After viewing my demo, I noticed that I had not edited the transition from the camera following behind the female character, to her POV.

To create a "blinking effect", I searched for tutorials and finally came across this one:

This tutorial utilises shape layers (colour matte), feathering and keyframes, which tracks the movement of an object frame by frame. While editing, I made sure to increase the edge feather up to 40%-50%, so that it blurs out the edge of the colour matte (thus mimicking the eye lid), and this prevents it from looking like two black rectangles on top of the clip.

I really like this transition between the two shots because it adds dimension to my film opening, and does not break the flow of the one-take. As well as this, it has allowed me to experiment with different transitions, instead of just using simple cuts throughout the opening sequence.
