Casting

As my film opening a psychological thriller, it is based around a sombre and realistic concept. This means that the people I have cast relates to the characters they will be playing.
For my film opening, I decided to choose particular actors who I thought would suit the part instead of holding auditions, because I only needed two characters and it would be time-consuming to get people to audition. As well as this, the film opening focuses solely on the female character and Will (the male actor) only appears for a few seconds.

PROBLEMS AND CHANGES
Previously, I cast Breezy Jones because she performed in the school production: A Midsummer Night's Dream - as Helena. However, she had to decline the offer of being in my film as she had to focus for her drama exam.

Additionally, Breezy is busy with other school commitments around the period of time I need to film my opening, which makes availability much more difficult to plan. Therefore, for my lead role, I have cast Sabrina Jemat as she has had prior acting experience before as she did GCSE Drama. As well as this, I think she will be better at acting as my lead role than someone who has never acted, because it is essential in my film that they are able to express the character's emotions and act like they've gone insane.

When I made Sabrina go through the script, I could tell that she would be great for the role. She was amazing at revealing the female character's emotions through the ways she presented her body language and movement. Furthermore, I feel as though Sabrina suited the appearance of the female character more accurately because she has very long hair, and throughout my opening, the female character has long and messy hair. In the final scene of sequence, the female character will have shorter hair, and this will be easier to deal with because I can just tie or pin up her hair to make it appear shorter. Additionally, the male character who I have cast is Sean Reyes, because he also has some acting experience as he has acted for John's THIMUN film and in Nisrina's AS film opening. Since  he only appears for a few seconds, it will not take very long to film his part, and this is helpful because I can call him whenever if I need to re-film any shots he is in.
